Lunch Gathering with Malaysia Tsinghua University Council

On May 12, 2024, the Malaysia Tsinghua University Council (MTHUC) held its annual general meeting and invited The Association of Graduates from Tsinghua University Malaysia (AGTHUM) to join in the festivities. At this significant event, the MTHUC conducted its third council election, during which Tan Sri Barry Goh officially stepped down as president and assumed the position of permanent honorary life president. The newly appointed president is Dato' Yap Kuak Fong. As a Tsinghua alumnus, Tan Sri Barry Goh emphasized the longstanding close cooperation between the council and Tsinghua University, especially its Education Foundation and the AGTHUM.

In his speech at the meeting, the newly appointed chairman, Dato' Yap Kuak Fong, expressed his hope that the MTHUC would play a more significant role in the bilateral relations between Malaysia and China. He also pledged to promote the image of Tsinghua University in Malaysia to facilitate further exchanges and collaboration with the university.

After the general meeting, over ten Tsinghua alumni and council members enjoyed a meal together, engaging in mutual exchanges and sharing pleasant moments.
