On May 17, 2026, the Association of Graduates from Tsinghua University Malaysia (AGTHUM) held its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) at its Damansara PJ alumni office, attended by 26 members.
During the meeting, President Hong Zi Shen expressed his appreciation to all committee members, alumni, and volunteers for their contributions and support over the past year. He shared that the association will focus on strengthening connections between current students and alumni, including establishing career and resource platforms to assist alumni and students in securing internships, employment opportunities, and scholarship or financial aid information. The association will also work more closely with the student association to expand membership and further strengthen the alumni network.
The AGM also approved amendments to the constitution to allow overseas alumni currently residing in Malaysia to join the association, further enhancing its openness and diversity.
In addition, the association officially announced the relocation of its office to a new premises provided by Secretary-General Fabian Kong, and the establishment of a Southern Region liaison office at the office of Vice President Charlie Ng in Johor Bahru to strengthen engagement with alumni in Southern Malaysia. The association also officially changed its communication email to admin@tsinghua.org.my to further streamline external communications and administrative management.
The meeting was conducted in a warm and constructive atmosphere, with alumni exchanging views on future activities, alumni resource integration, and youth development initiatives. Prior to the meeting, alumnus Zhang Nan from China specially prepared a tea gathering for attendees, while after the meeting, alumni gathered for lunch together to further strengthen friendships and connections.
