Huazong Carlsberg Top Ten Charity Champion Event

On October 27, 2024, the AGTHUM attended the "Top Ten Charity Champion" Gala Dinner hosted by the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) at the Huazong Building. Themed "Inclusivity and Nurtures Sustainability through Education" the event was sponsored by the Carlsberg Group and co-organized by Nanyang Siang Pau and China Press. The gala successfully raised RM1,080,500 for the Huazong Education Fund.

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Goh Tian Chuan, President of Huazong, stated that to date, the Huazong Education Fund has disbursed a total of RM6,943,000 in interest-free study loans and RM2,000,000 in non-repayable scholarships, benefiting 1,263 underprivileged tertiary students in Malaysia, a significant contribution to higher education support.

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Barry Goh, a Tsinghua University alumnus, also represented the Tsinghua University Alumni Association in making a donation of RM30,000 during the event.
