From 1 to 2 April 2026, the 6th “Belt and Road” Malaysia–China Business Dialogue, organised by the Malaysia–China Business Council (MCBC), was successfully held in Yinchuan, Ningxia. The event brought together government officials, business leaders, and industry representatives from both countries to engage in in-depth discussions on key areas including trade and investment, technological innovation, new energy development, and industrial collaboration, further advancing bilateral cooperation to a higher level.

The Malaysian delegation, comprising over 60 Chinese business leaders and representatives from various associations, participated in the programme and held multiple dialogue sessions with Chinese enterprises and institutions. Several memoranda of understanding were signed during the event, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration. Discussions also focused on regional economic development, industrial alignment, and cooperation in emerging sectors, reflecting strong mutual interest in deepening ties.

During the dialogue, the delegation also conducted a series of site visits to gain deeper insights into local industrial development. These included visits to the Ningxia Museum, goji berry industrial parks, new energy enterprises, the Minning Town development project, e-commerce industrial bases, and health food companies—offering a comprehensive view of the region’s achievements and potential in agri-tech, green energy, and rural revitalisation.

The President of AGTHUM, Hong Zi Shen also represented the association at this important engagement, participating in discussions with government and business representatives from both Malaysia and China. The exchanges focused on expanding collaboration opportunities and sharing perspectives on technological innovation, industrial synergy, and educational exchange.

Through this high-level dialogue and site visits, the event further strengthened connections between the Malaysia–China business communities and provided an important platform for Tsinghua alumni to play a greater role in regional cooperation. AGTHUM expressed its commitment to continue actively participating in Belt and Road–related initiatives, promoting resource integration among alumni, and contributing to deeper and more sustainable Malaysia–China collaboration across multiple sectors.
