On May 29, 2025, a delegation from the Shenzhen Digital Economy Industry Promotion Association (SDEIPA) once again visited Malaysia for a multi-day in-depth exchange. Led by Deputy Secretary-General Xiao Jie, this visit coincides with the one-year anniversary of the association’s initial connection with the Tsinghua Malaysia Alumni (AGTHUM), which was facilitated in May 2024 by Tsinghua alumnus Gao Hui. Returning a year later to where the friendship began gives the occasion special significance.

To warmly welcome the guests from afar, the AGTHUM hosted the delegation and arranged visits to several local Tsinghua alumni-led enterprises, strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation. Among the highlights was a visit to PickTenants, founded by Alumni Association Secretary-General Fabian Kong. As a rising tech platform in Malaysia, PickTenants focuses on smart rental solutions and data services, driving the digital transformation of the local property rental sector.

The delegation also made a special visit to ARB Berhad, led by President Hong Zi Shen. He currently serves as the Executive Director of ARB and the Managing Director of Axcova, and has been actively involved in driving the development of local data centers, artificial intelligence initiatives, and the digital economy. This visit provided both parties with an opportunity to explore deeper collaboration in AI and digital infrastructure.

SDEIPA has long been committed to fostering international collaboration in the digital economy. In Malaysia, the association has been deeply involved in numerous major initiatives, spanning data centers, fiber-optic communications, digital industries, artificial intelligence, and more, bringing advanced technologies and high-quality resources to support Malaysia’s digital development.

This revisit not only reaffirms the deep bonds of Tsinghua alumni friendship but also injects fresh momentum into digital economic cooperation between China and Malaysia. Both parties expressed their shared commitment to further deepening project collaboration, promoting resource connectivity, and achieving mutual success.

Looking ahead, the AGTHUM will continue to serve as a bridge and platform, dedicated to integrating and matching resources effectively. It will actively promote enterprises led by Malaysian Tsinghua alumni, assist local businesses in connecting with more international opportunities, and strive to build a mutually supportive and thriving Tsinghua alumni ecosystem.
