On July 25, 2025, the Sustainable Urban Construction Research Team from the School of Environmental Engineering held a remarkable exchange activity with alumni in Kuala Lumpur. The event was warmly hosted by Secretary-General Fabian at his cozy home. As the host, Fabian not only provided a comfortable setting for the gathering but also took the lead in sharing his life experiences and career insights, which left the visiting students feeling welcomed and inspired.

During the exchange, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on Malaysia’s diverse cultural atmosphere, the differences between local and international education, career opportunities and challenges, as well as cutting-edge topics at the intersection of environmental engineering and artificial intelligence. Students spoke enthusiastically, raising questions about sustainable urban development, green infrastructure, and the application of AI in environmental governance and smart cities.

The atmosphere throughout the event was both relaxed and lively, blending academic and research-oriented discussions with sincere sharing on personal growth and future plans. Through this exchange, the research team members gained a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s social environment and current development, while also drawing valuable inspiration from the experiences of the alumni. The event concluded on a note of laughter, thoughtful reflection, and mutual encouragement.
